WHAT IT IS:

The SAT is a standardized entrance exam accepted by most colleges and universities to aid in admission decisions. This exam is administered by the College Board and is a part of the National Merit Scholarship competition. The test consists of two required sections, Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing , as well as an optional Essay section. The two main sections consist of multiple-choice questions to be answered on a provided scantron sheet.

The test is scored on a scale of 400-1600, with 1060 being the national average. Your SAT composite score is the sum of your Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing scores.

WHEN TO TAKE IT:

Offered in August, October, November, December, March, May, and June, there are many opportunities to take the test. These national administrations occur on Saturday mornings, however non-Saturday options are available for those who cannot test due to religious reasons. Extended time testers should communicate with their administrator to determine test dates.

A complete list of SAT national administration dates may be found here.

HOW WE APPROACH PREP:

One-on-one SAT tutoring is one of our more popular offerings. With an average score improvement of over three times the national average, our individualized approach provides results that can’t be found in cookie cutter classes.

Preparation generally starts 8 to 10 weeks in advance of each test, depending on a student’s individual needs. All of our SAT tutors use Dr. Kleitz’s approach to test preparation, which brings together the student with a single tutor, one who is exceedingly proficient in every subject area of the test. Students and tutors meet once a week, for one hour, and students can expect 2-3 hours of homework each time they meet. Every student is different, and our team works hard to make sure we can provide a unique preparation plan and schedule for each student based on their schedules and test preparation needs.

Please contact us for your free evaluation! Our office staff is available to answer any test or preparation related questions and provide you with professional recommendations.
